Swimming For Hope
I'm setting off to Europe this week to support Frances Anderson - (my www.drywater.org partner in crime) who is to swim the Gibraltar Strait to raise money for the If You Care Share Foundation, a North East charity which helps and supports all those affected by suicide. Frances has been in training for months as the currents can be very strong and although the water temperature will be about 21 degrees, warmer than the English Channel, it still poses a risk of hypothermia. The Strait is an extremely busy shipping zone with up to 300 vessels moving through it every day and if that wasn’t enough there is the potential of various wildlife encounters! You can learn more and donate and also follow the swim on Facebook and Twitter.
